March 2016 - we were delighted to welcome some scientists of the future to the Watt lab at King's College London! Pupils from Burdett-Coutts & Townshend Foundation CE VA Primary School came for a hands–on visit as part of their Science Week.

December 2015 – Professor Edward Byrne AC (Principal, King's College London) joins Fiona and Professor Sir Robert Lechler (Vice-Principal [Health], King's College London) to celebrate the official opening of the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine (home of the Watt lab), of which Fiona is the Director.
December 2015 – CSCRM official opening party – guests were treated to
a tour of the newly refurbished labs and office space...
...and a musical performance by special guest 'Albert Einstein'!
June 2015 - A design created by Kif was voted the winner of a PLOS Computational Biology competition – celebrating their 10 year anniversary. Kif's image featured on both the anniversary cover and a limited edition t-shirt – as modelled here by Kif (left) and other postdocs and students of the CSCRM!

March 2015 – Every year on 8th March, International Women's Day sees thousands of events take place throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. Fiona was delighted to attend a special lunch hosted by Her Excellency Sylvie Bermann, at the French Ambassador's residence in London. January 2015 – Fiona was invited, by the Li Ka Shing Foundation, to be a Mentor for their 'Project Prometheus' event at Shantou University in China. Fiona and five other international scientists spent three days with 80 of the best high school students selected from all over China. China Network Television interviewed Fiona, here in the Watt lab, for their news programme. You can also view a special highlights video here.
January 2014 – Phase 2 of our Centre's refurbishment project is now underway... due for completion by April 2015.

2015 - a new year and new surroundings for the Wattlab! We've moved into our shiny new lab and office space – and phase 2 of our Centre's refurbishment is now underway...

Fiona and members of the Wattlab donned their safety gear for a tour of the
new lab and office space, as Phase 1 of our Centre's refurbishment project
was nearing completion at the end of 2014.
Fiona visited China in June 2014, with a delegation from King's College London, to explore partnership possibilities in terms of training, consultancy and joint research with Chinese universities and the healthcare industry.

Fiona is presented with her award for "Most Outstanding Contribution to Public Engagement" by King's Principal, Professor Rick Trainor, at the "King's Awards 2013".
The "King's Awards" is an annual event which celebrates the achievements
of King's College London staff over the past year.
Fiona with the nieces of Rosalind Franklin (who worked at King's College London in the 50s and whose work led to the discovery of the structure of DNA) when they visited Wattlab in 2013.
